The storms didn't get to us!

The weather was pretty bad last night but not as awful as we were told it would be. We seem to have no trees down, nor have we lost any tiles off the roof! However, other parts of Wales don’t seem to have got off so lightly, in St Brides, Newport, 170 people were evacuated from a mobile home park as a precaution, spending the night at hotels and the city leisure centre. The weather reports say there will be a backlash later but at the moment the sun is trying to shine B)

Doing housework just makes it a even more miserable day - no storms yet but it's done a lot of raining though, we have just been down the Wye valley to Hay and the river is very full, I should think they will have flood warnings down river by this afternoon.

Our barometer has dropped through the floor this afternoon......it's picking up a bit now, I really don't think I have seen it that low since the storms of, mmm, was it 1989? Jess was three and we were on the last ferry to cross the Irish Sea, gusting 11; it was very exciting, we got home to find that the roof had blown off our sheep shed and we had lots of trees down in the woods. We got off lightly that night too I seem to remember. They, the weather reporters, that is, do seem to like to scare the pants off us! Jess reports that Liverpool has had a lovely sunny day!
