I went out last night to do the horses and was met by the most awful smell. I thought it was a dead rat, one of the hazards of living on a farm (!) but NO, as I came back in the newsreader was announcing Le Stink was covering the whole of SE England - well, it has got as far as here! It is much less today without the windy conditions of last night, in fact Will and Nat say they haven’t even noticed it!! I was reading the paper this morning and there were some lovely comments, including ‘we should bottle it and send it back to Europe as Eau de Cologne’
When I was out riding yesterday I could see snow still lying in the gullies on Pen-y-Fan; there is a saying round here that if snow is left lying it is waiting to be joined by more. Now I hear that
there is ROAD CHAOS in North Wales this morning. Winter woollies on again and I think I’d better go riding before it hits us ![]()

On Easter Saturday George and I went to Cardiff to watch the EDF semi final. We can’t make it to London tomorrow to cheer on the finalists but Ospreys might need divine intervention with Henson out. (rubs hands in glee
) Should be a good match though - let’s hope it’s a wet and windy day so I can stay in and watch it with a clear conscience

If it looks at all like snow, bring your bog-toggan, there is a wonderful bank just above the Round Lake for going down ![]()
Forza Italia, at last England and hooray hooray for Wales! What an afternoon
I think that we shall give Builth a miss tonight!
Let’s hope for a Grand Slam, to win the championship would be the icing on the cake
But I’m learning not to count my swans before they are hatched ![]()
A little plug to come on England too
Pleeeeease!!
The weather was pretty bad last night but not as awful as we were told it would be. We seem to have no trees down, nor have we lost any tiles off the roof! However, other parts of Wales don’t seem to have got off so lightly, in St Brides, Newport, 170 people were evacuated from a mobile home park as a precaution, spending the night at hotels and the city leisure centre. The weather reports say there will be a backlash later but at the moment the sun is trying to shine ![]()
Here is a photograph of Bodnant Gardens, taken on the 4th of November, the colours were spectacular. We are going to visit again in the Spring to see the Magnolias. It is well worth a visit…

Wales is a place full of history, magic and mystique. It features some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain and millions of people visit every year.
