Bacon among the best in Britain!

We have always had our lovely bacon from our local butcher in Builth Wells. Originally is was Julian Powell and after he died Eric, his long time assistant, took over the shop. I called in there today to put an order in for Easter and noticed that they had been recommended by the Guardian Food Directory. The directory, which calls itself ‘The ultimate guide to Britain’s finest independent shops and suppliers, had written about Eric’s shop “Local, fully traceable meat. It employs two chefs who ensure a constant supply of high-quality savouries, including cooked meats, pies, ready meals and salads. The current bestseller is the extensive range of handmade sausages with flavours including lamb and garden mint, and pork and black pepper” We can vouch for their ribeye steak over a barbeque too! Praise indeed and we are lucky to be able to get all our supplies from them.

Hi Katie
we have had many good meals with meat bought from your butchers.Lamb from wales not as our supermarkets sell from NZ.Just seems to taste better. And there is nothing better than cooking bacon early in the morning the smell wafting over the campsite yummy.

Mmmmm - don't ask ME Carol!! But I will ask Harry, he's off for a few days over Easter but I shall have an answer asap. (I do too, sometimes a member sometimes a visitor!) What a beautiful day we have here today - off for quick ride before we have to stand to attention for the visitors arriving today.....I hope they have all packed their thermals!

I know Shelley, the smell of bacon cooking and barbeques in the evening is one of the BEST reasons to run a campsite!

You come on as a visitor if you just make a comment. BUT, if you LOG IN first, and then make a comment, the system will then show your comment as a Member. So members should always log in first (right hand column under "Misc"). ALSO - the comment form is different if you are already logged in, then you do not have to fill out your name and email etc. as it is already done for you. (even the spambot question/answer is already filled in for you so all you have to add is the comment itself).
